Hazelwood Pondage Morwell. Located 150km from city centre.
Venue Information
Hazelwood Pondage is a man-made lake and it has a water temperature of approximately 25 degrees Celsius, which is maintained by the operation of the Hazelwood power plant.
How to get there
The Open Water Swim will be held at Hazelwood Pondage, at Morwell. Hazlewood Pondage is located approximately 150 km east of Melbourne, along the Princes Highway. To get there, follow the Monash Freeway and the Princes Highway (M1)to Morwell and take the fourth exit to Churchill and Monash Uni.
Once you exit the freeway, turn right at the traffic lights onto Monash Way (C456)and continue past the roundabout until Brodribb Road (C468). Turn right and follow the C468 past the Hazlewood Power Station and turn left at the Cemetery into Yinnar Road. Follow this road down until Hazlewood Caravan Park, turn left and follow the signs to the registration/parking area.

Competition Details
3km Open Water Swim (Swimmers wearing wetsuits will be ineligible for medals)
Disabled Swimmers
Disabled swimmers can compete in the Swimming competition. Please note that there will not be a separate section for disabled swimmers they will be incorporated in with the other swimmers. Mark on your entry form that you are disabled, then the swimming organisers can be aware of your needs.
Warm Up/Swim Down
The Open Water Swimming facility, Hazelwood Pondage will be available for practice, at your own risk, on the Friday and Saturday prior to the Open Water Swim.
Competition Standards
The swimming competition at the Games will be conducted under FINA Masters Swimming Rules current at the time of close of entries. It will also conform to any special requirements of the International Masters Games Association (IMGA).
AUSSI Masters Swimming in Australia Inc will conduct the competition.
Swimming Program
You will receive a swimming program after you have completed accreditation at the Games Centre. Please check the program immediately to make sure all your details are correct and that you know the details of your event.
An information desk will be provided to assist competitors if they are not sure where to go or what to do.
