PNG HOCKEY AGM HELD DURING PNG GAMES
The sitting President Mr Kaluwin Potuan was elected unopposed, as was the Treasurer, Manoi Pokiap and Secretary
Tom Kahai. With the OHF CDO present for the Games it was an opportunity for her to talk about the Oceania
tournaments that Papua New Guinea could be involved in - age groups, seniors and masters. Gill also provided
all those present with a goalkeeping resource to be taken back to their province.
Kaluwin explained the process and progress towards the Pacific Games in 2015. FIH has endorsed that the
Hockey5 Game be used and this has been accepted by the Pacific Games Council.
Sae Dowara, Dvelopment Officer, has been working with a number of new villages and he has hopes for new
teams at next years National Championships. To support this growth, especially in the Eastern Highlands, and
to make it easy for teams to travel, the 2013 National Tournament was given to Madang. There was a very
positive and unified feeling at the meeting about the progress of PNG Hockey.
