The strong westerlies of the week eased on Friday, but still provided exhilarating sailing for some of the 12 or so yachts that spent the weekend of the Queenscliff Music Festival at QCYC. During Friday evening the wind dropped off almost completely and a gentle southerly carried the sounds of the Melbourne Ska Orchestra across to the wharf for those that didn't make the trip over to the festival site.
Low demand meant that the offer of the Cottage by the Sea minibus wasn't taken up and most ferried themseleves across the cut in twos and threes. Saturday turned out to be a beautiful sunny day with a light easterly - perfect weather for hitting the Festival or just sitting outside listening to distant music.
A good weekend to be at QCYC.
