If you've been down to the Club over winter, you'll have noticed the extensive pot-holing in the causeway and road to the clubhouse, exacerbated by recent heavy rain and strong winds. The Committee had earlier decided that, rather than patching as in the past, the road should be completely resurfaced when the worst of the winter weather was over.
This was undertaken this week by local contractor P J and T McMahon so that re-grading could be completed in time for Christmas in July on Sunday.
The finish is certainly a great improvement and it is hoped that it will be more robust and will withstand any remaining winter storms and rain.
It should be noted that a major cause of pot-holing in dirt roads is excessive speed and that every club member can each help reduce wear and tear by driving as slowly as possible, whatever the weather.
