Congratulations to Queenscliff couple Glenda Fowler and Sam Davis who were awarded the Club Person of the Year Award at the recent AGM. They are pictured in the cockpit of their yacht Don Pedro.
This award was introduced by Past Commodore Roger Bennett as an opportunity for a member (or members) to receive recognition from the General Committee. It is awarded to a member who makes an outstanding contribution or whose actions in a particular circumstance are judged to be deserving of recognition, or a member whose conduct at the Club in itself represents an effort above the norm. Past recipients of the award were Brendon Lee (2014) and Alan Farman (2015).
In making the award, Commodore John Mooney commented that Glenda and Sam have been stalwarts in organising and manning the bar over the past year, often stepping forward at short notice. In particular, Sam has been responsible for updating bar procedures and for guiding the Club in the selection of EFTPOS facilities for the bar and for programming the new till. They are also regularly seen down at the Club undertaking a variety of jobs in their quiet and efficient manner.
Congratulations Glenda and Sam.
