Frankston forward Khan Haretuku has once again impressed representing his home country of New Zealand in an Australia Day game versus the Australian AIS-AFL Academy side at Wellington Stadium.
Representing his country for the second year in a row, the Dolphins big man continued his impressive VFL form from 2012, named New Zealand’s best player in his side’s 43 point loss.
AFL's national talent manager Kevin Sheehan commented "he (Haretuku) would have taken a dozen marks. He really pushed himself up in front of AFL clubs who were watching the game."
Haretuku had a standout 2012 season in the Peter Jackson VFL, leading Frankston’s goal kicking with 30 goals, was named at centre half forward in the VFL Team of the Year and also gained selection in the VFL representative team last May.
Interchanging between the ruck and forwardline in the second half of the season, Haretuku will look forward to the return of former Dolphins ruckman Russ Gabriel, who will this year return to Frankston after a season with East Fremantle in the WAFL.
