Marshalls men beat Chuuk

Despite playing their second game of the day, the Marshall Islands men's basketball team had little difficulty in defeating Chuuk on Monday night, 95-59.

The Marshall Islands players made 45.6 percent of their field goal attempts, making 36 of 79 shots, compared to just 36.2 percent for the Chuuk team that only took 58 field goal attempts, making 21.

Four players scored in double figures, with Frederick 'Nao' Shoniber leading all scorers with 20. Bolear Bokna and Nathaniel 'Baby' Lometo scored 14 each, and Willis 'Mokku' Lamille added 10. Shoniber shot a sizzling 66 percent from the field, converting on 7 of 11 field goals, including 3 of 5 from three-point land.

This moves the Marshall Islands men's team record to 3-0 after two days of play. The RMI joins Team Guam as the only two undefeated men's teams in the tourney. RMI and Guam square off for a battle of the unbeatens Tuesday September 25 at 7pm (Guam time).
