WELCOME

The Finals in all age groups for the Junior Basketball Winter 2009 Season have now been played.  Congratulations to all the teams who were lucky enough to progress through to finals.  Some exciting and competitive basketball was played over the finals series and we all must agree, participation was the winner.

THE NEW SUMMER 2009-10 SEASON will commence from the week of Monday 5th October, 2009 (first week back from school holdidays-Term 4).  The competition will break for the Christmas holidays and will return on the first week back to school in 2010. 

Registrations for the new Summer season were taken during our current season Grand Finals week.  If you were unable to submit a registration for the new season or do not have a registration form, please download from FORMS in the top menu of our website.  Please bring your registration form out to the ARC during the first week of competition and we shall endeavour to place you in a team, but you will need to wait for the SECOND week of the round as all teams have now been set.

Player who have registered for the new season are asked to look up the website (under Junior Basketball/Junior teams Summer 2009/10) on the LAST WEEKEND of the school holidays to find out which team they will be playing in for next season - except U10 mixed (no set teams).

Alll current players have been graded for the new Summer Season so that each competition has an even mix of height and abilities.

The competition games for the new season will be played on the same nights as this season and game times will be set once the teams have been completed.

U19 Boys Spring Challenge

The U19 Boys Spring Challenge TEAM based competition will be played over 10 weeks commencing Thursday 08/10/09 for players born 1991/92/93/94.  Teams will need to register during Junior Grand Final week to be eligible for this competition.

 
How do I find my team for the Summer 2009/10 season?

GO TO: Junior Basketball tab (along top of screen).  Then go to Junior Teams Summer 2009/10, select age group - find name/team. AUSSIE HOOPS

Aussie Hoops is for children aged 5-9 years old.  We run Aussie Hoops on Thursday nights from 4.15 pm to 5.00pm on Court 1.  It costs only $70 per Term and each child receives a back pack with t-shirt, drink bottle and ball along with 8 weeks of coaching.  Coaching is applied with the concept being to introduce children to basketball and to give children a fun and confidence building experience on a basketball court, all with no pressure.

Our next Aussie Hoops season will commencing on Thursday 15th October 2009, please arrive 15 minutes early to register.

Aussie Hoops registration night will be on the first night of the program from 4.00pm at the ARC or entries can be downloaded from our website (under Aussie Hoops) and sent to Warrnambool Basketball, Aussie Hoops , PO Box 500, Warrnambool 3280 prior to registration night if preferred.

UNDER 10 COMPETITION

This competition will play 2 X 15 minute halves of basketball and 15 minutes of skills training with 8'6" rings for all divisions in Under 10's.

JUNIOR DOMESTIC BASKETBALL

Junior Domestic Basketball is for children aged 8-18 years old and runs weekly every Monday through to Thursday during school terms from 4.15pm on Courts 1, 2 and 3 at the ARC.  It costs only $6.20 to play each week, payable at the ARC office prior to taking the court to play your game.

JUNIOR SQUAD TEAMS

Squad Basketball is run with the support of Basketball Victoria Country Council. Squad players are selected from our Junior Domestic competition players. Squad try out days are usually held in July/August in each year. Members get the exciting opportunity to represent Warrnambool at competitions throughout the region and train as a team at least weekly during the season. Each team is trained and coached by their respective age group squad coach.

Age groups are: U12 girls/boys, U14 girls/boys, U16 girls/boys, U18 girls/boys in both division 1 and division 2 categories.

A reminder - if your name is not printed on the score sheet, we may not have your details and you are running the risk of not being covered by insurance and public liability cover as well as playing ineligible.  Please ensure we have all your details on our database.



PLAYER INSURANCE AND REGISTRATION FEES


Player insurance and registration is payable prior to the start of each season. Registration forms are found in the forms menu on our home page or obtained from the WBI office.
