League Game

Vanessa Kurnoth (nee Clarke) will take the court this Tuesday night for
her 500th DBA League Women’s game. She will become only the 6th female player to reach the milestone.
Vanessa was part of the Rebels powerhouse team that dominated that
1990s, winning the Dry Season Grand Finals 5 years in a row (1992-1996). She has played in 14 of the team’s 16 Grand
Final wins. Vanessa has been selected in numerous Darwin and NT teams.
Vanessa has scored 4228pts at 8.47ppg. She was the first player to hit
10 three pointers in a game and that record stood from the 1995 Wet Season
until 2009 when Timmy Duggan broke it, hitting 11 three pointers. Vanessa
has led the Women’s League top scorers list on numerous occasions with the most
points scored in a game, most of them at 30+ points.
The game will be at 6.15pm against Lightning. A formal presentation will be made following
the game.
