League MEN –Lightning v Razzle

Lightning blasted Razzle 118-75 for their first win of the season and they still have a chance to make the playoffs with 8 games remaining in the competition. Cameron Bailey (13.2ppg) and Dylan De Santis (8.1ppg) led the onslaught with 24 and 21 with three other players in double figures. The inclusion of import Evan Browne into the team has also added another dimension to the team, despite loosing the services of long serving team member Mark Lloyd. Browne was one of the three players with double figures as he pumped in 18, Karsten Oltrop hit 13 and Jesse Bell had 11. James Panton hit a season high 26 for the Razzle with support from Eric Klenke (15) and Ross Vasic (13), but the green and gold found it hard to keep up with the resurgent Lightning.

League Men – Eagles v Tracy Village Jets

The undefeated Tracy Village Jets kept their unblemished record intact with a workmanlike 80-59 win against the Eagles. Travis Ellis had his eye in on the night as he rammed home a game high 27 points that pumped his average up to 22.3ppg. Nick Pattrick added 15 and Ryan Marshall 14 for a Jets team that not only had more firepower, but held a height advantage as well over the Eagles. Even so…guard Timmy Duggan (21.5ppg) hit a team high 25 for the birds as they tried to keep in touch with the league leaders. Shane Harrison was back on court for the Eagles after finals football commitments and he popped in 11 points, but trying to keep up with the Bombers proved too much of a challenge.

League Men – Warriors v Uni Rebels

Uni Rebels leapfrogged over the Eagles into third place on the ladder with a 70-58 win against the Warriors. Marcus Ch’ng (19.7ppg) netted a game high 26 points during the match with Kyle Webb (14) and Jarrod Sheppard (12 @ 24.2ppg) helping the cause. The game seemed to be one of two distinct halves. The Rebels holding a reasonable 45-37 lead after the first half, but then both teams cooled off offensively as the Rebels outscored the Warriors 25-21 to earn the competition points.
