Calling for Volunteers for U14 Nationals
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Australian U14 Boys Club Championships
29th September – 4th October (school holidays)
20 of the leading Club teams in Australia will compete in
Darwin for the Ken Watson trophy.
Gate Keepers - over 18 yrs old
Will be required to check that each spectator has a ticket as they enter the stadium – both Darwin Basketball Stadium and Marrara Indoor Stadium.
Floor wipers
Two floor wipers are required each game (aged 12 – 18 yrs). NOTE - there are 80 games during the week.
Hospitality room servers
Required to man the hospitality area which is reserved for coaches and managers. We need really friendly people willing to make this area a comfortable place for team officials to relax and interact with their interstate counterparts.
Team Liaison officers
We need outgoing friendly people to be team liaison officers. One liaison officer will be appointed to each team. Contact is to be made a couple of times prior to the Championships to assist in any way possible with the team’s stay.
Game Reporters
Provide a brief summary of each game for inclusion in a daily newsletter.
Score bench officials
Four people are required each game (total of 80 games during the week). Training for bench officials will be held prior to the Championships for you to refresh your skills. Please contact Sue Marshall on 8981 6655.
Gofers
Fill water containers, get ice, any other tasks as required by the event management team.
Court Announcers
Introduce teams as they take the court on the first and on the final days of the event.
Team Mascot - under 12 yrs old
Lead a team into the Marrara Indoor Stadium during the opening and closing ceremonies. Each team mascot will carry a sign identifying their team.
Volunteers receive a polo shirt to wear plus a meal voucher and an event pass for each day they are rostered on!
If you are able to lend a hand for a couple of hours on any one day or every day.
