The 2013 Fiji Games Swimming events were held at the National Aquatic Centre in Suva on Saturday 11 May.

5 districts were represented and at the end of the meet, Suva topped the medal tally, followed by Rotuma, Nasinu, Levuka and Nadi.

Over 200 swimmers participated in the 3rd of Fiji Swimming's LC Grand Prix Meets for 2012, held yesterday at the National Aquatic Centre, Suva.

Chyenne Rova (Nadi Barracudas) and William Clark (Nadi Makos) have been offered scholarships at Iowa Lakes Community College under the Samsung Oceania Foundation Scholarship Programme.

Cheyenne and William will be flying off to the college in August.

Over 200 swimmers converged on the National Aquatic Centre in Suva yesterday to compete in the 2nd of Fiji Swimming's LC Grand Prix Meets for 2012.

New national records were set by Caroline Puamau and Rosemary Rova.

The 3 meet LC Grand Prix Series gives swimmers the chance to improve on their times and to make qualifying times for the National Championships in May.

‘Never Swim Alone’ is the key message given to primary schools from around the Suva City area that were part of the International Water Safety Day at the Suva City Olympic Pool today.

The programme was organised by the newly formed Water Safety Council of Fiji which comprises many different stakeholders in sporting, government and non- government sections.

Douglas Miller (pictured with team mates) helped his Iowa Central Community College team to 5th place at the just concluded US Junior College National Swimming Championships, held in Buffalo, New York over the past 3 days.

The first meet of the 2013 season was held at the National Aquatic Centre last weekend..

Former National Coach, Horace Petersen (pictured with former swimmer and Oceania Swimming President, Dennis Miller) was conferred with the Fiji Olympic Order by the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) during the Fiji Sports Hall of Fame Dinner last weekend in Suva.

FINA has posted online the presentations made during the coaches clinic held last October in conjunction with the 2nd FINA World Aquatics Convention. FINA has also posted videos of 4 of the talks.

National reps, Meli Malani, Adele Rova and Cheyenne Rova have been named in the Oceania Swim Team to the Australian Youth Olympic Festival, which will be held in Sydney in January 2013.

Fiji Swimming wishes them all the best in their preparations and for the Festival.
