Waverley Spring 2014 Round 2

Spring Round 2 - 17U Premier League Section 1
LYVNA 55 defeated Melbourne Waverley 44

Centre pass conversion: 68.63% (just under target)
Turnover conversion: 75% (at target)
Combined goaling: 77.5% (under target)

If I'm honest...our first quarter was a bit of a shocker. The girls were a bit flat and a combination of lack of turnover in defense, sloppy passing in attack, lack of drive and missed goals saw us lose the first quarter by 7. Yes. we tried a different starting line-up - but that shouldn't have that big a negative impact.
Luckily - the first quarter was very out of character for these girls, and they turned it around, winning the second by 7 goals, meaning scores were level at half time.
The momentum stayed our way for the rest of the game, and we won the 3rd by 5 and the fourth by 6, coming out eventual winners by 11.
I must congratulate Melbourne Waverley on some great shooting - they didn't miss many.
We have lots to work on at training, as we continue to try and develop our versatility and adaptability.
A special mention to Ash Saunders who, although she wasn't happy with her own game, took 11 intercepts and 6 rebounds in defense!
Also, a very Happy Birthday to Sinead for yesterday

 — feeling relieved.
