Wrap-up of fixtures played 11 August
Grand Finals were played in the Northside 1, 2 and 3 grades and semi-finals were played in the Southside 2, 3 and 4 grades.
In the Northside 1 Grand Final between Pine Rivers and Valleys, the scores were locked at 10-all at half time, with both teams scoring two tries. Pine Rivers went on to win the match, and the premiership, 26-18, scoring five tries to four overall.
Mitchelton led Bayside Warriors 16-12 at half time in the Northside 2 Grand Final, scoring three tries to two in the half. Mitchelton held on in the second half to win the match, and the premiership, 20-18, scoring four tries to three overall.
In the Northside 3 Grand Final, Bracken Ridge Bulls led Norths St Josephs 12-6 at half time, having scored two tries to one in the half. The second half saw St Josephs score three tries to two in the half, with Bracken Ridge winning the match, and the premiership, 25-22, with both teams scoring four tries.
In the Southside 2, elimination semi-final, St Brendans scored five tries to two to beat Beenleigh Bulls 28-10. At half time, Beenleigh led 10-6, having scored two tries to one in the half. In the major semi-final, Bulimba Valleys led Slacks Creek 28-4 at half time, scoring five tries to one in the half. Bulimba went on to win the match 40-16, scoring seven tries to three overall. In next week’s Preliminary Final at Langlands Park at 3.00 PM, Slacks Creek will play St Brendans, with the winner to play Bulimba Valleys the following week.
Mustangs Brothers won the Southside 3 elimination semi-final 14-10 scoring three tries to two. At half time, Mustangs had scored two tries to one to lead 10-6. In the major semi-final, Beenleigh Juniors led St Brendans 24 -0 at half time, scoring four tries in the half. Beenleigh scored another five tries in the second half to win the match 48-0. In next week’s Preliminary Final at Langlands Park, St Brendans will play Mustangs Brothers at 1.15 PM, with the winner to play Beenleigh Juniors the following week in the Grand Final.
In the Southside 4 elimination semi-final Edens Landing scored four tries to one in the first half to lead Waterford 20-4 at the break. Edens Landing went on with it in the second half to score eight tries to three overall and win the match 42-16. In the major semi-final, Slacks Creek led Logan Wanderers 16-12 at half time, scoring three tries to two in the half. Slacks Creek went on to win the match 40-12, scoring eight tries to two overall. In next week’s Preliminary Final at Langlands Park at 11.30 AM, Logan Wanderers will play Edens Landing, with the winner to play Slacks Creek the following week in the Grand Final.
In Premier Grade, Gaters continue in the lead on 32 points, despite being beaten 14‑10 by Aspley. Easts Juniors beat Sunnybank 72-4 to move to 31 points and Aspley moved to 27 points. Wynnum beat Souths 42-0 to go to 22 points and Carina beat Greenbank 26-18 to move to 18 points. Greenbank is on 9 points, Souths on 7 and Sunnybank on 6 points.
Logan Brothers received a forfeit from Capalaba to stay in the Southside 1 competition lead on 37 points. Mt Gravatt beat Souths Juniors 40-32 to move to 35 points. Wests Centenary remains on 25 points, after being beaten 28-10 by Redlands, while Capalaba stays on 19 points. Wests Inala received a forfeit from the withdrawn Carina. Souths Juniors are on 17 points, Redlands on 16 and Inala on 8 points.
In the Under 20 grade, Easts Juniors received a forfeit from the withdrawn Albany Creek to maintain the competition lead on 35 points. Logan Brothers beat Redlands 52-0 to move to 34 points and Brothers Juniors beat Brighton 54-12 to go to 32 points. St Brendans beat Carina 64-12 to move to 30 points. In the other matches, Aspley beat Norths Juniors 38-22 and Cannon Hill beat Waterford 30-26, leaving Carina on 22 points, Aspley on 18, Redlands on 17, Brighton on 16, Waterford on 11, Cannon Hill on 5 and Norths Juniors on 4 points.
