Junior Report as at 29 May, 2007
BVJFA Report
Under 11's competition guideline and structure established to form link and junior flow through to Youth Club's in 2007. 3 Merimbula FC and 3 Diggers F.C players joined in the first week, Pambula played their under 11's at Pambula, no other club's have joined in.
Junior Review accepted, with willingness to develop and create continuity throughout all junior age groups.
Round 8 cancelled this game was booked with SCAFL's rep games, since the game has been moved to Canberra there will be no game for the long weekend round.
Early morning starts are preferred with the BVJFA parents, this needs to be addressed when planning 2008 season with SCAFL
Oval bookings for 2008 season need to be addressed within the next 2 month to avoid problems that were faced at the beginning of the 2007.
2008 planing for this age group;
South end (Eden, Pambula, Merimbula, Bega, Tathra):
4 games in South
1 Gala day in South (Berrambool) with North
4 games in South
1 Gala day in North (Narooma) with North
Manuka Match at Canberra
North end: (Bermagui, Narooma, Cobargo-Quaama):
4 games in North
1 Gala day in South (Berrambool) with South

- Registration Day during term 1with a come and try day
- Begin comp in term 2 with early morning start
- 11 games all up over the season
- Comp designed to cut travel time and parent friendly
- Batemans Bay visit when possible
AFL Development Report
Development pathway all Auskick centres are up and running:
Bega, Merimbula, Eden, Narooma, Pambula, Tathra and Bega
School clinics in the Bega Valley area is divided into 2 regions AFL DO Mick Mundy works the North & AFL DO John Rowe works the South.
Working closely with the BVJFA these DO's work with the targeted age group requested from the BVJFA.
At the moment there is work being done at Bega Public, Pambula, Eden, St Josephs and Wolumla primary schools.
Also both John and Mick are hands on with the BVJFA at their regional Auskick Centres plus assisting with the running of the BVJFA main day on the weekend.
6 week Koori Program followed by a gala and the annual Auskick Gala day for years 3/4 students in the north and south are scheduled for term 3.
Talented Player Cats Program is designed for 13's & 14's, players have been broken up in 2 areas North and South. Training for this area is held on Wednesday at Pambula Sporting Complex.
AFL Scholarship program has been extended to include the entire South & Sapphire Coast. This will provide opportunities for youth players to be placed on a scholarship with an AFL Club and increase their chances of becoming drafted.
SCAFL Junior Sub-committee Report
General out comes of sub-committee meeting
Create a Junior Data Base to form a direct link to clubs eg:
Club Junior Development Offices to be the first point of contact via SCAFL Junior Board member or SCAFL Manager.
Lengthy discussions was had across the table regarding issues below:
* Duty of Care & Code of Conduct issues
* Playing up/down Policy
* Player on loan Policy
* Youth Club Game Rules
* Forfeits
* One way traffic
Sub-committee all agreed issues above need to be reviewed and brought up to date eg: by laws, game rules and a junior constitution needs to be adopted and designed for the Youth Club age group within SCAFL.
Plan of action;
Tracey to investigate a current (2007) junior constitution, by laws and game rules, email to CJDO's for viewing with alteration if needed to suit the area. Table documents at Board and Delegate meetings, adopted and implemented before the 2008 season begins.
Events
Vote Count - Disco SCAFL's Youth Club vote count followed by disco/dance party all in favor, however CJDO's felt under 17's should be with senior vote count.
Venue & JD to be booked asap.
Tuggeranong Challenge (Rep football for under 12's, 14's and 15's)
Confirmed Sunday 12th August Peter L. to book Berrambool asap.
Under 13's and 14's talented player CATS program to be used as players training day Wednesday 6.30pm-7.00pm at Pambula Sporting Complex. Players from this talented players squad will be selected for the 12 and 14 rep sides, however clubs with suitable players will be encouraged to attend the Cats program also.
Under 15's players to be sourced through Mitch Pilgrim and directed to the same training night with an appointed coach.

- Women must be members of their local football club to play in practices matches to cover insurance
