Core Strength and Conditioning
This workshop is centred on the safest and most practical way to implement strength and conditioning for an individual or a team. Learn about foam roller, types of stretching, strength training, cross training and cool down and exactly how to use them for optimal performance. The workshop provides both theory and practical components with an emphasis on safety and technical execution.
Monday 8th October 2012, University of Wollongong, Recreation and Aquatic Centre, 6pm – 9pm
$30 per participant
Level 1 Elastoplast Sports Taping Course AND Advanced Sports Taping Course
Accredited by Sports Medicine Australia, these courses provide the sports enthusiast with the knowledge of strapping techniques, the value of using correct tape and how to tape ankles, fingers, wrists, knees, shoulders and thumbs. These courses are suitable for all coaches, manager, players or any sports volunteer looking to further develop their skills and knowledge.
Monday 15th October 2012 (Elastoplast Sports Taping) and Monday 22nd October 2012 (Advanced Sports Taping), BaiMed Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic (new Woonona location), 6:30pm – 9:30pm
$60 per participant per course
Level 1 Sports Trainer Course
The Level 1 Sports Trainers Course is designed to introduce participants to the basic knowledge and skills required by a Sports Trainer. These skills include the management f specific sporting injuries, sports taping and transporting an injured athlete. This course educates prospective sports trainers, teachers, coaches, administrators and parents on the basic principles of sports medicine.
Entry into the Level 1 Sports Trainers course requires a current SMA Sports First Aid Certificate and/or Apply First Aid Certificate from a reputable First Aid Provider.
Saturday 3rd November and Sunday 4th November 2012. Vikings Rugby Club (Clubhouse), 8:30am – 5pm each day $285 per participant for both days (including all resources)
