Max Madonia commenced his international coaching career as Assistant Coach of the 1990 Australian Women’s Team tour of England and again in 1992 for the USA Team’s Australian tour.
He was then appointed as Co-Coach of the Australian Women’s Team 1993 World Cup campaign with a Bronze Medal result. He then served as Assistant Coach of the Australian Women’s Team 1997 World Cup campaign with a Silver Medal result.
Max has also coached the Victorian Women’s Teams, at the National Championship in 1988, 89, 92, 93 and 2001, as well as Tasmania in 1996.
He also served as Head Coach at women’s club level with Newport and Surrey Park, culminating with four years at Caulfield from 1999 to 2002, where he coached the team to three Premierships. Max has recently returned to coaching in men’s club competition, taking Footscray from 5th to 3rd in three years.
Max commenced playing in the junior ranks with Williamstown and continued through each age group to seniors over a period of 19 years. He then played his final 11 years with MCC.
Max’s enviable record of experience and success will ensure that he has the full confidence of the players and the team personnel of the Australian Women's Team 2013 and will help to position the team for the best possible result in the FIL World Cup of 2013.
