Morning folks Basketball Pacific are combining this Saturday’s (August 16th) Basketball Talent identification day with a coaches Workshop.
The workshop will run from 10am – 11am covering the theory of understanding offensive concepts and principles and a briefing of how this will then be applied at the talent identification day’s.
Concept
For a team to consistently score a high
field goal percentage, it is important to create as many lay up opportunities
as possible.
Motion game concepts and principles include
Penetration of the basketball inside the
key
Creating Space
Recognising Space
Reacting and timing
Recognising cues
Playing the defence
The understanding of the above principles and efficient execution will create shot opportunities both inside and outside
Following the workshop, Basketball Pacific coaches will be conducting our Talent Identification day. All workshop participants will be welcome to attend as the Basketball Pacific Coaches take the ideas talked about in the classroom session and put into practise.
The sessions have been planned to be progressive not just for these session but for the future camps as well. The drills we will be using are also progressive to cater for differing levels of ability.
