Younger boys and girls have 3 options to get into the game:

1. Join a Lakers under 9 team.  If you turn 7 before the beginning of the season, you can join one of our youngest teams. With 2 or 3 divisions in this age group, there will be a game to suit your standard and experience.  There are separate competitions for boys and girls.

2. Join AUSSIE HOOPS.  This program is Basketball Australia's national development program for kids aged 5- 8.   It is ideal for those children who are still young or wanting a non competitive entry into the game.  The program is skills orientated and runs on a number of days.  Aussie Hoops is run by our parent association - please go to www.mckinnonbasketball.org or ring 95791200 for information and registration.

3.  Slam Jam - an under 8s competition which combines coaching and a game with relaxed rules.  Slam Jam is mixed (boys & girls) and is also run by the McKinnon basketball association.  Please refer to their website www.mckinnonbasketball.org or 9579 1200 for more information.
