Everton Park State School Go Crazy for Backyard League

15 Classes from Everton Park SS were put through their Rugby League paces over the 5 weeks of our Backyard League Program. ARL Development staff run the first 2 weeks, then Mr Thomas, the PE teachers run the following 2 session where the kids skills levels increased dramatically. ARL Development then return for the final 5th week of the Backyard League Program to assist the students with setting up their own rules and playing their own games of Rugby League.

There were students everywhere across the oval, running, tagging, scoring try’s and most of all having FUN!! The best thing apart from seeing the students improve in their skill ability, is to see their leadership skills being used and also showing cooperation with each other during these games.

With over 300 footballs now in the school, I am sure we will be seeing plenty of Backyard League games happening around Everton Park School and district.

ARL Development would like to thank Everton Park State School for the opportunity to visit and the support given by all staff, students and parents made the experience an enjoyable one. We look forward to visiting Everton Park State School again in 2013.
