The VWFL welcomes the Scoresby Magpies to the competition for the 2008 season. The Eastern Lions women's football club and the Scoresby Junior Football Club have joined forces and will field the Scoresby Magpies in the South East competition for the 2008 season. The VWFL wishes the white & black Magpies all the best for their debut season in the VWFL.
Scoresby Junior Football Club president Richard Little welcomed the women's team saying;
"Scoresby juniors have traditionally had a number of girls playing in the junior teams. Fielding a senior women's team now provides the club with an avenue for the girls at Scoresby to play senior football and it strengthens the club as a whole."
