Every player in AFL Victoria's Youth Girls Program is insured through the Australian Football National Protection Programme through JLT Sport. The JLT website has all the information that clubs, players, officials and parents need to know about player insurance.

The Programme, arranged by JLT Sport, has been up and running since January 2004. This was a joint initiative of The AFL and its State Bodies and it has seen a number of benefits provided to football clubs throughout each state and territory.

It is considered that the Programme provides every club with access to insurance and risk protection at an affordable and consistent price.

The Programme’s goal is to provide sustainable cover and a long term solution for this and future seasons.

The Programme provides competitively broad protection across the following areas:

- General Public & Products Liability (including Errors and Omissions cover for coaches, umpires and trainers).
- Club Management Liability (for Incorporated bodies only).
- Personal Accident Cover (including Capital Benefits, Non-Medicare Medical Benefits and optional Loss of Income cover)
