AND 1 DEFEAT UNI ALL STARS

It was billed as Uni ball versus Street ball and that's exactly what it was. In typical student fashion, the Uni All Stars had more team changes than Dan Cullinan has had girlfriends.

LTU's Dan Cullinan, Paul McMaster and Dan Kraljevic were joined by Tom Burns (Deakin), Brett Mummery (Deakin), Daryll McDonald (Monash) and Luke Cooper (Anchorage Alaska)as the Uni All Stars put up a valiant attempt against the cream of And 1 Australia. Former LTU stars Luke Egan and Nazza O'Brien brought their And 1 cohorts and put on a show for the LTU students.Curtis Small and Sedale Threatt Jnr displayed their ball handling wizardry while Vashon Weaver provided the aerial highlights.

And 1 came out firing as Mike Santo found his range early on. Not to be out done the two Dan's (Cullinan and Kraljevic)worked hard inside to keep the scores close. Each time the And 1 team looked to break the game wide open, the students rallied to draw even behind some handy play by Paul McMaster and Tom Burns.

Going in to the half time break down 61 - 51, the students looked for answers to the showmen's deft shooting and pinpoint passing. Clearly, the first week back at uni had already sapped all the Uni All Stars mental energy as they just could not find those answers.

In true And 1 fashion, the game featured some fine ball handling displays from both sides. Danny Cullinan had the play of the game when he put the ball between his legs, faked the shot and then layed the ball in. The And 1 boys didn't know what had happened.

In the end it was still a game, and the And 1 team was victorious 110 - 93. It was by no means a thrashing and the Uni players left the game knowing that a full squad could definitely provide a different result next time.
