MEN'S INTERVARSITY TEAM ANNOUNCED
Lister is coming off a sensational year for the Eltham Wildcats, one so good that he was selected as the only emergency for the Big V All Star team that will compete at the NBL preseason blitz in Cairns later this month. His sharp long range shooting makes him a threat that can not be discounted.
McMaster is no stranger to all star form himself, being chosen as a member of the Green and Gold team at the 2002 Australian University Games. His silky smooth skills are almost on a level with his off court charm that have him as odds on favourite to take out the King of IV Catwalk Competition next week.
Returning from the squad that won Bronze at the Southern Uni Games are man mountains Daniel Kraljevic and Senad Dizdarevic and slashing guard, Glenn Watts. Both standing well over 200cm, Kraljevic and Dizdarevic will keep the boards clean and make other teams think twice about bringing the ball inside. Watts, who is currently still playing finals with the Eltham Youth League team brings a quick first step and deadly jump shot to the side.
The new additions to the squad are headlined by Dave Godfrey who has just finished a hectic Big V season that resulted in a trip to the ABA National Finals. Godfrey's ability to play the point will fill the void from the Southern Uni Games. Joining Godfrey at the point will be Duane Buriani-Gennai. Duane played for the LTU Eagles in Big V competition this season before travelling overseas. His tenacity and speed will be an added bonus for the team.
The men's and women's team will be holding a major fundraiser at Room 680 on Wednesday 31st August. Be sure to support the two teams in their fundraising efforts.
