COACHING POSITION VACANT

LTU - Coach - Division One Women

La Trobe University Basketball is seeking applicants for the position of Head Coach for the Division 1 women's Big V team.

LTU Basketball seeks a coach that :

Can develop young players (18-22) who may or may not have come from a junior Championship Basketball background.
Has the expertise and experience to coach more experienced players.
Is able to build and maintain productive player relationships
Is understanding of the fact that players studies take priority to basketball
Is able to work closely with the LTU Basketball committee to achieve the clubs goals
Is understanding of the close relationship between the mens and womens programs and the importance of this in sustaining a successful program
Has the desire to build LTU Basketball into a legitimate contender

It is important to note that as a club that does not have a junior program, LTU basketball recruits differently to "conventional" clubs. Players are generally recruited from teams that represent LTU in local senior domestic competitions and from players that move on campus from regional areas. The club relies on an enjoyable social atmosphere as a means of building player morale and increasing community involvement. It is important that the successful candidate embraces these concepts.

Whilst an NCAS accreditation is desirable, a coach with good experience and a creditable coaching and player relationship history is essential.

Remuneration will be subject to negotiation. Applicants are invited to include remuneration expectations in their application.

The successful applicant will report to and be responsible to the LTU Basketball Committee.

Applications to be forwarded to:

Or to basketball@latrobe.edu.au

Applications close: Friday 21st October

LTU Basketball wishes to thank Lisa "George" Marsden who has been the women's head coach for the past 2 seasons. George answered the call for help 2 years ago and has made a fantastic contribution to the club.
