Riding the popularity of Texas Hold 'Em Poker, LTU staged it's own games night at Toad Tavern. People came from far and wide to test themselves on the small stage before making the trip to Vegas to play with the big boys.

Pre tournament the usual suspects talked up their chances. Dobbo said that he was easily the player of the tournament and even if he didn't win he would at least be carrying half the players and helping them to victory while juggling live cats and cooking nachos! Sutto went for Dark Horse status by claiming he had no idea what he was doing (He eventually proved himself correct). Luke Egan said he was a good chance as long as no refs were there to make bad calls. Ten Thumbs, Captain Croall was also talking himself up. Even Sarge was quietly confident of showing up the young bucks with some old school moves.

Once the first cards were dealt,poker faces replaced the normally cheery faces around the room. An awed hush surrounded Toad Tavern. Well, it would have been an awed hush if Dobbo and Egan weren't trying to trash talk each other from across the tables. A few players were obviously nervous about being the first player out of the tournament until Lethal Leigh Newey bombed first and eased their concerns.

Meanwhile, games of UNO were being hotly contested on the "other games" table. They were loud, boisterous and obviously enjoying themselves. It was hard to tell which Gannon was loudest! Dobbo was heard to comment that he was the best UNO player ever to grace the room and the girls were lucky that he wasn't playing.

By the time things got down to the last table most of the big talkers were still in. Egan was growing in confidence as was Croally. Big Fat Cam (BFC) was still in in with a chance. Sarge was feeling pretty confident as were some of the unknows being Amber Farrington's brother and his mate who were going under the radar. Dobbo still claimed that he was a good chance to win. When informed that he was actually out he claimed that he had set Egan, Josh and BFC up with his stellar play and if they won it would be because of him.

As the final table willowed away Ten Thumbs Croall had a built a massive chip lead and it was only a matter of time before he was crowned the winner. "That's my win Josh", screamed Dobbo.
