Wolves 3-Peat!

The much anticipated final between the Defending Champion Wolves team and the Wesleyan Christian Academy did not dissappoint the fans!

Wesleyan was the underdog, but was determined to show everyone why they belonged as a contender for the championship; the Wolves were even more hungry to prove without a doubt that they belonged on top of the under 19 boys league and to cap off an undefeated season!

As the game began there was no doubt as to the hunger level of both teams; players were diving for loose balls, hustling for every opportunity to score and being very stingy on the defensive side of the floor.  The Wolves jumped out to a 19-12 lead in the first quarter, led by regular season MVP Peter Grant.  But Wesleyan chipped away at the lead in the second quarter, largely due to the scoring of Arin Taylor and the inside presence of Albis Amaya; but the Wolves still hung onto a 10 point lead going into the second half.

Wesleyan made the right adjustments for the second half, because the Wolves were unable to run away with a lead in 3rd quarter, but the 10 point cushion the Wolves earned in the first half proved to be too much for the Wesleyan team to overcome despite outscoring the Wolves in the 3rd.

The Wolves' tenacious pressure defence earned them a 9 point lead in the 4th quarter to win by a margin of 17 and the bragging rights for yet another year!

For Wesleyan:  Arin Taylor led the way with 21 points and 4 assists while teammate Albis Amaya added 14 points and 10 rebounds.  Daniel Britton also performed well with 10 points, 14 rebounds and 4 steals.

For the Wolves: Finals MVP Peter Grant was unstoppable, posting a season high of 39 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals;  teammate David Powery added 11 points and 8 rebounds while Rueben Barnes posted 10 points and 9 rebounds.
