JOB DESCRIPTION
NBL Administration Support – Volunteer Position
REPORTING TO General Manager
HOURS Part Time (flexible) will be required to work on game nights.
PURPOSE
Basketball is one of the Auckland regions' growth sports. The association has involvement at all levels of the game from Primary and Intermediate schools to Secondary Schools and adults. Basketball Auckland is entering an Auckland team into the National Basketball League commencing in April 2011.
Basketball Auckland is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated team member who is passionate about basketball and has the skills required to take the association’s interaction with its stakeholders to another level.
OBJECTIVES
1. Reporting to the General Manager, the NBL Administration Assistant will be responsible for providing timely communication and information to stakeholders
2. Working with the General Manager and Administration Manager the successful applicant will ensure that the association is working towards meeting the expectations of stakeholders and participants.
3. This will be a demanding but highly exciting position for a motivated individual who is looking for experience within the Sporting Sector.
PERSON SPECIFIC
You will have a broad range of administration skills and have knowledge gained from either operational and administration or sport sector experience. You will be an energetic person with the ability to work independently and accurately with speed, have great organizational skills and maintain relationships with all personnel involved with Basketball.
The person required needs to:

* have an involvement or interest in sport
* Maintain strong relationships* Provide strong support* be a quick and eager learner This role would be ideally suited to a University Student wanting to gain hands on experience in the sporting sector.
