Staff appointment
Basketball Auckland announce the appointment of Simon Mesritz to the staff in the role of Development Officer.
Simon is a very experienced player having played at a high domestic level for over the past ten years including seasons with the Auckland NBL and CBL teams and highlighted by representing the Tall Blacks in 1996. He is also a highly experienced and well qualified coach.
Simon will have two key roles in the newly created position. He will organise and manage the in-schools coaching program as well as having the responsibility for the Association's representative program. There are also some responsibilities for the identification and appointment of Coaches at all levels.
This role is viewed as pivotal to the Association's progress over the next season
