Report NSW vs AIS - 29/10/2011
Menai Indoor Sports Centre Alison Cres Menai - 4.00pm
Great expectations as NSW hosted the round against the AIS
The young AIS boys came out very strong and gave NSW a very big fright by taking the first two sets quite convincingly the score - 25-18 in both. As they have on previous occasions the NSW team took a while to get their act together. They dug in and battled hard to salvage some pride and and hold the AIS out and win the third 25-22.
Momentum started to swing the way of NSW, with all their hitters punishing the AIS, with that their defence also starting to strengthen. Till that stage Liberos - Odie and Danny had done a marvellous job in keeping our hopes alive but now the blocking started to work and it started looking like a different team altogether.
Inspirational subs Gaspo and Nathan steadied the team and helped NSW get away with hard earned victory 15-12 in the fifth.
