Seasons Greetings from SVNSW
As we look forward to some down time over the festive holiday season, it’s a good time to look back on 2012 and all of the activities that have “kept the ball flying” across the State over the past 12 months!
Junior participation has been a highlight this year. Starting off the year the Junior Academy has gone from strength to strength,and junior teams competed once again in the U15 Nationals in Albury. Dozens of new and returning teams flooded our various Schools Cups throughout the year.
State Cup events held in regional and metropolitan centres were a great chance for interaction between club teams old and new, NSW was well represented by junior state teams competing at the Australian Junior Volleyball Championships in Melbourne and this year’s SVL season was another success for both junior and senior volleyball participants, coaches and referees.
Senior volleyballers and support staff worked hard for their spots in this year’s men’s and women’s Australian Volleyball League competitions, while many NSW club and school teams also supported interstate events including the Good Neighbour tournament in Canberra, and the Australian Volleyball Schools Cup in Melbourne.
Volleyball is alive and well in New South Wales and the Board of SVNSW wishes to thank all of those people that made this possible during 2012. Whether paid or volunteering with your school, club or association, your efforts have not gone unnoticed and we appreciate your contribution to the successful delivery of volleyball activities to men, women and children of all ages this year.
Thank you to everyone, in every corner of NSW, who carried out one or more (or all) of the following roles during 2012:
Board & Committee members;
