The game started off straight away as an intense and full on match. Both teams ready to go and playing strong.
As the quarter went on, Australia started to become stronger and their rebounds, steals and shooting became evident that they were there to win. Samoa played hard and tried hard to pick up to Australia’s standards and determination.
Although the excitement of the first day and the first match has worn off both teams were keen to start the match, they all arrived early and were straight on court to train at the end of the first match.
Samoa hit the game off with a fast break down to their end and an easy goal scored, seemingly everyone thinking the game would be one-sided.
The national Basketball Development officers from across the Pacific have arrived in Coffs Harbour for the first week of their Education and Training program. The course will include topics covering administration, governance, coaching and refereeing. After arriving on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the group has already seen primary school basketball, lawn bowls and done the level 0 coaching course
