Dear Fencing Victoria members,
The AFF AGM is being held on May 20th. One of the proposals before the meeting is a revised selection policy for Australian representation. The existing policy has caused much debate and division within the Victorian Fencing community. The policy is an underpinning part of the AFF High Performance Program and the AFT rationale.
The Fencing Victoria Executive believe that the existing policy and by extension the HPP/AFT program needed to be reviewed. A review of the AFT is currently being undertaken.
A new selection policy will be proposed at the upcoming AFF AGM on May 20th. Fencing Victoria has also submitted a proposal for the meeting. Both these and other proposals are attached below.
Fencing Victoria supports a National High Performance Program. We also believe that as a nation we should be enabling our best fencers to represent us at international competitions. In order to accurately represent the opinions of the fencing community in Victoria we are seeking your feedback regarding these proposals.
If you require more information or wish to advise us of your opinion please contact president@fencingvictoria.org prior to May 17th.
