Round 17 - Brendan Hawkins - Doveton Eagles

Brendan is the youngest Vice President listed at the Eagles and has been a great asset to the club. He looks after the Doveton Eagles Thirds side and also helps out with the reserves and senior sides when needed. Breandan can be seen behind the bar, in the canteen, cleaning out the rooms and helping out with the meals on a Thursday night. Brendan is an inspirational clubman who is a valued member of the Doveton Eagles Football Club.

Round 16 - Searn Ear - Southern Dragons

The introduction of the Southern Dragons into the SFL would not have succeeded without the determination of Searn Ear. Searn recognised the opportunity to develop the Dragons and cement a future for the clubs three teams playing in the Division 3 competition. Searn worked tirelessly with the league, sponsors,councils, and players to make it all happen and ensure that Dragons were ready to go for season 2009. Congratulations Searn!


Round 15 - Barry Ennis - Murrumbeena

All eyes focus in the direction of Barry Ennis on a Saturday at Beena Arena as Barry is the master of the scoreboard. The heritage scoreboard is an icon and for the past two seasons Barry has never missed a beat - accuracy being his forte' with updated scores even before the flags are waved! Murrumbeena is indebted to Barry for his contribution - a lonely thankless task that each week is meticulously executed.

Round 14 - Daniel Howlett - Mt Waverley

Daniel Howlett has served the Mount Waverley FC as a player for a number of years since moving across from Clayton. In 2008 he joined the committee to help out with functions and has continued in 2009 adding more strings to his bow by assisting the Treasurer and the all important bar duties. Suffering injury pre-season Dan stepped up to share his experience and invaluable knowledge with the coaching staff by assisting with the development of the young players in the Thirds.

Round 13 - Terry Solier - Dandenong

Hard work and dedication is what Terry Solier has displayed since taking on the Presidents role at Dandenong. After a struggle in 2008 to keep the club afloat Terry stepped up to pull together a new committee and create a culture that will allow the Redlegs to build of the future. Terry has been pro-active in attracting players to the club and they now field three teams each week. Wearing many hats off field and finding time to get on field - Terry is a deserving nomination.

Round 12 - Adrian French - Ashwood

Adrian joined the Ashwood FC this year hoping to make an impact on field - unfortunately a pre-season accident resulted in a knee reconstruction which put a stop to him playing but with a "can do" attitude Adrian has shifted his focus to contributing off-field. Adrian helps out on training nights and match days in various roles - his most commendable role being that of the umpire escort. Keep up the good work Adrian and the boys at Ashwood look forward to seeing you back in 2010!

Round 11 - Ed McLean - Lyndale

In clubland it is not surprising to see our volunteers wearing more than one hat - in the case of Ed McLean at Lyndale he wears several. Ed is club Secretary/Vice President/Reserves Coach and injured player after snapping ligaments in his ankle in Round 1. Ed put up his hand when the committee called on the "younger" players to get involved in running the club - hopefully Ed will inspire others to follow his lead (without the injury!)

Round 10 - Robyn Cochrane - Highett

Robyn has joined the Highett FC this year and taken on the very demanding role of secretary. A mother of one junior player, Robyn's involvement in junior footy has given her the confidence to put up her hand and get involved in re-building the senior club. In her first weeks in the job she attended every function to meet everyone and learn about every aspect of the club. Robyn is described as a breath of fresh air - or more like a welcome whirlwind! Congratulations Robyn!


Round 9 - Rob Tennant - Dingley

Rob is one of the “younger breed” of volunteers willing to get involved and give back to his club. Rob has been in the position as Secretary at the Dingoes for the last few years after gaining experience on the committee at the Mordialloc Life Saving Club. Rob can always be seen around on matchday keeping an eye on the passionate support from "the cage".

Keep up the good work Rob.




Round 8 - Aaron Goldfinch - Sandown

Aaron has been a great asset to the Cobras during season 2009 with his "can do" attitude and vibrant personality. Aaron can be seen on match day running, water, running the boundary or just helping out where needed. It is great to see the younger generation keen to be involved.

Round 7 - Ash Biram - Oakleigh District

Ash has been around the club as a player but over the last few years he has excelled off-field in securing valuable club sponsors. He joined the committee in 2008 and lends a hand where ever needed. Ash is passionate about developing youth at the club and has made a significant contribution to the clubs future by recently becoming a new Dad to twin boys Lachlan and Harrison - congratulations Rachelle and Ash!


Round 6 - Rowena Rowbotham - Skye

Rowena joined the committee at Skye in 2008 as Functions Manager and has moved into the role of club secretary. Row looks after the club newsletter, functions, sponsorship and her fiance' Paddy who plays for the Bombers. Row is always on hand to help out when needed - a great assest to the Skye Football Club. Congratulations Row!


Round 5 - Ian Dougherty - Hampton

Ian has been involved at Hampton for the past two seasons as President. Ian has led the charge in re-building the club by recognising the future of the club is in the young players and was instrumental in securing an ongoing Colts team. A past club coach and jack of all trades, when Ian is behind the bar everyone is welcome at "THE TOOLBOX". Congratulations  Ian " IT'S HAMMERTIME" Dougherty!


Round 4 - Bears TV Team - Caulfield

This weeks nomination for "Rookie Volunteer" of the week is a team effort. Dan "Super" Adamek, Steve Hewlett and Justin Tippett are responsible for producing "Bears TV' each week. The guys volunteer their time and waive the costs to the club to produce a quality product which is enjoyed by all at the Bears. Great work guys!  Congratulations!


Round 3 - Pete Smith - Black Rock

Pete has been with Black Rock for the past 12 months and has now joined the committee. Pete is Senior Team Manager. Pete has been a valuable acquisition to the club helping out in a number of areas. We welcome Pete to Black Rock and the Southern Football League. Congratulations Pete!


Round 2 - Richard Bugg - South Yarra

Richard has been with the South Yarra FC since 2007 after moving to South Yarra from North Kew. Richard joined the committee halfway through season 2007, then moved into the role of Vice-President in 2008. After a successful 2008 season in Division 3, Richard has taken on the challenge to guide the "Yarras" through the move into  Division 2 as Club President. Congratulations Richard!


Round 1 - Ian Harper - Cheltenham

Ian has been with the Cheltenham FC for two years and in 2008 took on the role of coach of the Cheltenham Cockatoos. Ian's partner Renee Rowe and her family have a unique history with the club as the family boasts three generations of club captains - for Ian the obvious choice was to get involved or get left at home on saturdays!! Ian was awarded the Club Person of the Year in 2008 and is co-coach this year of the Colts team. Congratulations Ian.
