Venom 16/3 Girls Premiers
Although Ringwood had remained undefeated all season, some strong offensive work combined with a determined defensive press delivered the desired result winning 34 – 31 and gaining a week’s break before the grand final.
The preliminary final saw Eltham also get over Ringwood and give Venom a chance to redeem their loss in the qualifying final.
The girls started hard at the ball in the Grand Final and shot very well in the first half to be leading at the end of the first break by 15. Continued pressure on the Eltham ball carriers saw turnovers converted at the Venom net. The girls worked extremely hard in defence all game, eventually running out winners 40 – 13.
High scorers were Darian Brazier 17, Maddy Hallett 11 (game MVP) & Kellie Fletcher 8 and greatly supported by Ashleigh Potucek, Beth O’Donnell, Bianca Cubitt, Fae Sng, Georgia Albert, Kassidy whiting.
