Venom Future Forces - Boys: starts this Friday

Warrandyte Venom are seeking enthusiastic boys born in 1999, 2000 and 2001 who are keen to further their basketball by taking part in the Venom Future Forces development program that aims to bridge the gap between Saturday domestic and Friday night representative basketball.

The Venom Future Forces program teaches the children more advanced basketball skills and drills, and focuses specifically on ball handling, shooting technique and defensive principles.  Participants in the program will be challenged to do their best, with some likely to have the opportunity to play in the Nunawading Spectres Queen's Birthday long weekend tournament.

It is expected that the majority of the particopants in the program will be ready to try-out for a place in one of Warrandyte Venom's representative teams for the 2010 Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) season, with selection trials expected to commence in Septemeber later this year. With two-third's of Warrandyte Venom's three under 12 teams in the 2009 Victorian Junior Basketball League season former graduates of the Venom Future Forces program, the program is a proven breeding ground for future Venom stars!

The 2009 edition of the Venom Future Forces program will be conducted on selected Friday afternoon's at the Warrandyte Sports Complex (WSC) located at Andersons Creek Primary School in Warrandyte.  The first session for the year starts this Friday, 3 April at 5:15pm to 6:30pm.  Places are filling fast, so to secure a place in the program please contact Damian Arsenis on 0418 995 663 or via email at darsenis@bigpond.com
