A chance for the girl’s and boy’s within the Canterbury district to play League Tag together. On Wednesday 30th
September 33 teams across 8 schools took part in a Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 mixed League Tag Gala Day that was held at The Crest Sporting Field’s in Bass Hill.
Yagoona PS heavily dominated the day taking out both age divisions defeating Holy Saviour PS in the Year 3/4 division and narrowly running out winners against Villawood East PS in a tough battle to win the Year 5/6 competition.
Leading up to the day some schools participated in clinics conducted by the ARL Development, and their skill advancement was very evident on the day which was very pleasing to see. Skills such as ball handling, passing, running, evasion, kicking and try scoring were on display at a high level.
A big thank you must go to the following groups of people: the teacher’s and parent’s who came to support their teams throughout the day and to the staff of the ARL Development for providing great support and superb officiating on the day.
