DAVID HICKMAN HAS WRITTEN A BOOK ABOUT JUNIOR BASKETBALL.

It is designed for thoughtful coaches and parents interested in grappling with the issues of the sport.

The book is about the strengths and issues of junior basketball in Victoria, and reflections on coaching juniors for close to fifty years. It is not a history of ­­­junior basketball and it is not a handbook of drills and skills. There is a chapter on the EDJBA

The book deals with the themes such as why junior basketball has grown so strong, how growth can be maintained, the strengths of the EDJBA and VJBL competitions, the dilemmas of coaches, the relationship of coach with parents, the overall contribution of junior sport for young people and how the sport should be governed.
