EDJBA Training
Summer Season 2009-10

As you are aware the Committee of Management of Bulleen-Templestowe Basketball Club introduced a new system of training for the Winter Season 2009.

The Committee of Management was attempting to achieve 2 things with this new system:-

1. By introducing specialized coaches in group training sessions we were hoping to raise the skill level of all players within the club and in having the team coaches attend these sessions it would also help raise their level of coaching knowledge.

2. The Club hires courts in at least 11 different stadiums in and outside the Manningham Municipality. We were trying to save on court hire costs which have now reached unsustainable levels unless registration fees are raised substantially.  Under the old system a number of teams trained with only 2 or 3 players attending a session. This was unacceptable from a coaching and a cost point of view.

The Club has received considerable feedback about the new training system, some complimentary, but others not as favourable. Therefore, in response to this the Committee of Management has agreed to revert largely back to the old training system but keep some parts of the new system that worked well.

For the EDJBA Summer Season 2009-10 training will be as follows:-

• All U18 & 20 boys/girls teams will train together - TLC Monday nights from 8pm - 9pm
• All other teams will have half a court for 1 hour a week with their own team coach which will need to be liaised with your age group co-ordinator for the available times
• If group training is required with a specialist coach it must be on the night and at the time requested by the specialist coach with 3 compatible teams to a court attending the group training session e.g. Specialist Coach - TLC Thurs 5pm - 6pm GU16Bt4, GU16Bt5 & GU16Bt6
