AFLGCJ Clubs this year have an unique opportunity to promote all clubs at a Gold Coast Football Club Community Event. All Gold Coast SUNS players and coaches will be in attendance on the day. As this is a major calendar event, the SUNS in conjunction with the AFL are promoting this event through all media outlets, so this should be a great way to tap into a new AFL market of potential players for your clubs. We hope all clubs endorse this event and promote your clubs to the best of your ability.
We are asking all clubs to bring the following:
- Junior clubs to arrive at the Southport Broadwater parklands at 8:00am
- 3x3 Marquee
- Table
- Chairs – extra for GC SUNS players who will be floating throughout the tents during the day.
- All registration documents
- Decorations
REMEMBER – there will be a prize for the best decorated Sign On Tent.

Broadbeach, Carrara and Robina AFL clubs work together to develop AFL in their district.
Broadbeach, Carrara and Robina AFL Clubs have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a player pathway for junior players to play at the highest level possible.
Paul Rolfe the President of Broadbeach Senior AFL club has describe as a big step forward for Broadbeach, Carrara and the Robina AFL clubs, to have a pathway so young players in our district can play at the highest level possible and to be able to develop an elite U18 program is really exciting.
All three clubs now have a great opportunity to work together and share their resources for the benefit of each other to grow AFL.
Umpiring
Camp
Places have now closed; very pleasing to see the amount of club umpires who will be attending this camp.
The camp is being held on the Sunshine Coast from the 25th-27th of February.
Every umpire that had registered online last year was emailed all the details of the camp.
JFUP
Session One will begin towards end of March, will have times and dates confirmed within the next two weeks.
With this program, I require each club to appoint a “Club Umpire Coordinator” that will help run and will appoint their umpires. If you have already appointed a CUC can you please email me their details please; if you are yet to appoint a CUC can you please do so before March.
