FL announces Western Sydney High Performance Manager The AFL today announced Alan McConnell as Western Sydney High Performance Manager.

McConnell has been the AIS/AFL Academy High Performance Coach for the past five years and recently also added a responsibility as Director of Academies to establish talent coaching benchmarks across Australia. more -->

Taylor Walker recognised as Rising Star Former NSW AFL Scholarship holder Taylor Walker, has been recognised for his strong performances with the Adelaide Crows in 2009 with the Round 10 NAB AFL Rising Star nomination.

With five first-half goals, Taylor helped the Crows to a commanding 48 point half-time lead – before running out eventual 27-point winners over reigning premier Hawthorn at AAMI Stadium on Sunday. more -->

Huge weekend of AFL action for Southern NSW This weekend around 250 of the most talented Australian football players from around the region will travel to Lavington for the Southern NSW Under 15 and Under 16 trials.

The five regions, Albury, Wagga, MIA/Northern Riverina, Broken Hill/Wentworth and Western Riverina have been training in their satellite centres for the past six weeks in preparation for the trials. more -->

Ruffles, way to go! NSW/ACT RAMS forward Tim Ruffles has moved a step closer to realising his dreams of playing AFL when he was among 79 players claimed by the 16 AFL clubs at this years NAB AFL Draft.

Ruffles, who plays with North Ballarat in the TAC Cup, was selected by the Fremantle Dockers with pick 68. He was the sole RAMS player to be snapped up by an AFL club at the NAB AFL Draft. more -->
Five young stars make the cut Five AFL Scholarship holders from NSW have been handed the chance of a lifetime to play football for an AFL club, with all five now listed as Scholarship Rookies on AFL lists for 2009.

The exciting announcement came last Friday as all AFL clubs were required to submit club lists, in preparation for next month’s NAB AFL Draft, to be held on Saturday November 29. more -->
