Round 5 of the Get Started program opened on 28 January 2015. There has been a quick uptake this round and all available vouchers have now been issued.  Vouchers are to be presented to a registered club by the expiry date of 11 May 2015.

Get Started is one of three funding programs that comprise the Queensland Government's Get in the Game initiative to support grassroots sport and recreation.

Get Started assists children and young people who can least afford or may otherwise benefit from joining a sport or recreation club.

Brisbane Basketball Inc is a registered association that can accept these vouchers to offset some costs of entering a sport.

You may be eligible for the Get Started program if you are a child or young person from the age of five and under the age of 18 who are residents of Queensland, and hold or whose parent, guardian or carer holds a Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card.

If a child is eligible for Get Started, they are not guaranteed a voucher. The funding will be distributed in two rounds each year on a first come, first served basis. Once the allocation for each round is exhausted, the program will close and no further vouchers will be offered for that round.

The distribution of Get Started vouchers is managed using an online system called QGrants. Parents, guardians and carers must register for a QGrants account before applying for a voucher. You can create a QGrants account at any time.
