McCarron and Wroe to Represent Australia

Brisbane Capitals U/18 team members Mitchell McCarron and Corban Wroe have been selected to represent Australia in the upcoming Oceania tournament in Guam.

McCarron and Wroe, both play for Northern Galaxy, have been undergoing intense training camps and selection process requirements since April this year, to a point where the boys were required to attend a National Camp at the same time as the State Championships.  Being the competitiors they are the boys finished the National Camp, only to fly from Canberra to Townsville to join their Brisbane Capitals U/18 team mates for the final days of competition.

All of the hard work has paid off as the two will travel back to Canberra on September 22 for a pre-tournament camp at the AIS, and the tournament in Guam from September 27 - Oct 5.

The Australian team has been placed in a pool with hosts Guam, Fiji, Tahiti and Samoa.

Even though the two have packed so much basketball into 2008 already this is just the start.  Both McCarron and Wroe will be vieing for selection in the 19 and Under Australian team set to contest the World Championships in 2011.
