Saxon Rice at 2011/2012 Powerade Brisbane Basketball Junior Rep Luncheon
MP for Mt Cootha Saxon Rice was one of several dignataries that joined the Junior Brisbane Capitals Players, Coaches & Managers with their friends and family at The Broncos Leagues Club on Sunday for the 2011/2012 Powerade Brisbane Basketball Junior Rep Luncheon.
The Awards Luncheon was a huge success as almost 400 people packed into the Function Room at Thr Bronco's Leagues Club. A Special thank you to Powerade for their support of the event and also to The Bronco's Leagues Club who have made the event the best Junior Representative Awards Event in the South East of Queensland.
Saxon Rice made special in her address recently to Parliament where she acknowledged the tireless work and efforts of the Volunteers as it was National Volunteer Week.
Mrs Rice said "Every volunteer makes a valuable contribution to our broader community, including thetireless volunteers who work in the kitchen or deliver Meals on Wheels, our local Rotary and Lions organisations, chambers of commerce and sporting clubs."
She went on to state "I participated in the BrisbaneBasketball Inc. junior representative awards luncheon just last Sunday and it was important to acknowledge the work of the volunteer team managers, coaches and referees supporting the participation of our children in representative sport."
