Sixty under 12's and 14's boys and girls converged into NAB Stadium over the past couple of days for the inaugural Rep-Ready Camp with positive results.

In an initiative brought to the table by dual Australian Olympian Fiona Hannan the camp was aimed at representative under 12's and 14's players for the upcoming BQJBC season.

Not your regular fun and games camp, the fun was still there but in a twist there was some actual teaching of defensive and offensive principles that will prepare the participants for their upcoming rep trials in a few weeks.

"We had scheduled to run a similar camp for under 16's and 18's these next two days but due to court issues, we coudln't make it happen," Hannan said.

"Look out in September though," she concluded.

QBL men's import Drew Eisinger was Camp Director and kept everything running to plan and to schedule. Specialist coaching was provided by two-time U14 Championship coach Penny Bairstow, dual Olympian Fiona Hannan, former WNBL star Rebecca Mackinnon, US college product Steph Bairstow and QBL men assistant coach Mick Tarrant.

The kids were wowed by special guests speakers NBL/Boomers superstar Sam Mackinnon and NBL legend and veteran Dusty Rychart who were put through their paces by a very intence Q & A session from all campers.

At the final session the campers were presented with their customised Brisbane Capitals backpack featuring thier own names which brought some very big and happy smiling faces.
