Detailed Description

Brisbane Basketball Inc. is seeking an experienced coach who has a solid track record of increasing team and individual (older adolescent and adult) player performance in an elite basketball performance or high performance club environment. 

The Brisbane Capitals are a founding member of the Queensland Basketball League (QBL). The Association has a proud history of success having won eight (8) Women’s State League titles, reaching nine (9) Grand Finals and playing in multiple finals series. The Association is also extremely proud to have assisted over 20 players to play in the WNBL and with Australian Senior and Junior representative teams, including: Bronwyn Marshall, Alison O’Dwyer, Georgia Woodyard, Rachel Warren and Odette Andrews to name a few. 

To enhance our offering to female basketball players in Brisbane, South East Queensland, and Queensland, the Brisbane Capitals are looking for a suitably experienced and aligned sports professional for the position of QBL Women’s Head Coach. 

The Brisbane Capitals QBL Women’s Head Coach reports to the Performance Manager and is accountable for developing a culture, which creates excellence on and off the court.

 

Qualifications, Abilities and Experience

Level 2 (Association or Performance) Coach Accreditation or equivalent.

Head Coach experience leading an elite performance or high performance (adult and older adolescent) basketball team.

Demonstrated ability of improved team and individual player performance in a performance or high performance basketball context.

Tertiary qualifications in either sports coaching, management, teaching, adult learning, training and assessment, exercise and sports science, health sciences or equivalent work experience is desirable.
