Brisbane Capitals QBL Men's Team Progress To The QBL Semi-Finals
The Brisbane Capitals QBL Men's Team progressed to the QBL Semi-Finals with a 108-94 win over the Northside Wizards makign it three from three against the Wizards men for 2009.
In a scoreline that doesn't show how tough the game was the Capitals men were slow out of the gates in the first quarter and were down by 15 at the end of the first. They managed to claw back the Wizards lead to 8 by half time and the game looked to be going down to the wire.
The Capitals Men exploded in the third quarter for a 41-19 quarter and a 14 pt lead by the end of the third and the Semi-Finals in Cairns were only a quarter of basketball away. The last quarter was a draw and the Capitals team now move on to face the Rockhampton Rockets in Cairns at 6.15pm this Friday August 14.
The Capitals and Roclets only met once this season in Rocky where the Rockets ran out 98-73 winners. The Capitals Men will be looking for a better performance in the neutral territory of Cairns and the chance to progress to the Grand Final against the winner of the Cairns v South West Pirates Semi-Final.
