The State Basketball League Commission has recently reviewed an incident involving an administrative error which resulted in the South West Slammers playing an ineligible player.
In round sixteen the Slammers women suited up a player and failed to lodge a contract, player registration and proof of citizenship which are all documents required by the league before a player is eligible to play.
The administrative error was reviewed by the SBL Commission and in keeping consistent with previous decisions of a similar nature, the following penalties were applied:
Basketball South West have been fully cooperative throughout the process and were up front in identifying the error to the league when it became apparent.
The changed result leaves South West still on top of the WSBL standings with their record changing to 14-5 and the Wanneroo Wolves remain in fourth with their record adjusted to 13-6.
