Record Crowds for Kickz101 Perth SBL Grand Finals

The State Basketball League has this afternoon released 100 standing room tickets for tomorrow night’s ‘Kickz101 Perth’ Men’s SBL Grand Final and will have a record grand final attendance for tonight’s ‘Kickz101 Perth’ Women’s Grand Final.

Tonight’s game between the Rockingham Flames and Lakeside Lightning will be played in front of over 1,000 fans surpassing the previous best standalone Women’s Grand Final crowd of 956 in 2012.

Rockingham will be looking to secure their first ever Women’s or Men’s SBL Championship tonight with veteran forward Kaye Tucker set to play her 350th game as well.

Standing in their way will be the Lakeside Lightning who will be aiming for their second Women’s championship in their short 14 year history.

The Men’s Grand Final will see over 2,000 people pack into the WA Basketball Centre to watch the Geraldton Buccaneers try and claim their first championship since 2000.

Geraldton have been the dominant team all year finishing on top of the standings, however East Perth have finished strong with Perth Wildcats big man and NBL Rookie of the Year Tom Jervis leading the way.

For East Perth, like Rockingham, they will be looking to claim their first ever Women’s or Men’s championship after recent heartache in 2011 (Women) and 2012 (Men).

Tickets for both games are available through Ticketmaster with tomorrow’s Men’s game expected to sell-out before tipoff.
