Senators appoint 2010 WSBL Coach

It is with great pleasure and anticipation for the future that Stirling Basketball Association would like to announce the signing of Vladimir Alava (who has come to Perth to be a key member of the Lynx coaching team) as our new Women’s SBL coach for season 2010.

Vlad comes to the Senators (and the Lynx) with a wealth of experience, having been Assistant Coach with the Sydney Uni Flames in the WNBL for the last 4 years (including 2 championships), while also coaching the Hornsby Spiders to 2 titles in 3 years in the Waratah Conference of the ABA. Vlad also has a strong background in junior development and forging links between junior and senior programs, which will be a crucial aspect of the Senators growth over the coming years.

After a late start to 2009, and a tough year as a result, the Senator’s women can now look forward to a strong development program, a thorough pre-season, and an exciting start to 2010.

Please keep your eyes and ears open for details of our pre-season program and try-outs, for your chance to be a part of this exciting new phase of development in the Stirling Senators Women’s program.
